Aventurine

Aventurine is a green to red-brown colored variety of quartz with inclusions of Fuchsite (Mica). This Mica gives the color to Aventurine in the green variant, but the color can also be caused by other inclusions. The specific effect of glitter in a mineral, as it occurs with Aventurine, is called aventurization and also occurs with other minerals such as Sunstone and Labradorite. The name Aventurine comes from the Italian 'aventura', which means adventure or opportunity.
